Canopies

Some garden canopies are specifically designed to be fixed to an exterior wall, while others are freestanding structures. Check the individual product’s installation requirements and make sure the proposed wall and fixing points are suitable before installation.

Maintenance depends on the materials and design. Keeping the roof or covering clean, checking fixings and inspecting moving components periodically can help keep a canopy in good condition. Always follow the care instructions supplied with your particular model.

Wind resistance varies between designs and depends on correct installation. Retractable canopies or awnings may need to be closed during strong winds, while other models have their own weather limitations. Always follow the manufacturer’s guidance during adverse weather.

Garden canopies should be installed and secured according to the manufacturer’s instructions. Fixing requirements vary between freestanding and wall-mounted designs and according to the surface they’re installed on, so check these requirements before preparing your site.
