Pressure Treated Summer Houses

You can use a summer house at different times throughout the year, but how comfortable it is will depend on its construction, insulation, glazing and the weather. If regular all-year-round use is important to you, a purpose-designed insulated garden room may be a more suitable option.

Summer houses are extremely versatile and can provide extra space for relaxing, reading, entertaining and hobbies. Depending on the size and specification, you could create a hobby room, exercise space or occasional home office. Consider how you intend to use the building before choosing its size, layout and features.

Many summer houses can be installed without planning permission, as they may fall within permitted development rights. However, this depends on factors including the building’s size, height, position and your property. We recommend checking the current planning requirements that apply to your home before installation.

A summer house should be installed on a firm, flat and level base capable of supporting the building. Suitable base requirements can vary between models, so check the instructions and specifications for your chosen summerhouse before preparing the site.
